When the fae princess needs protecting, there is only one man for the job.
The Fae Guardian is a standalone fantasy romance set in the Nordic Fae world. With sizzling chemistry, elemental magic, slow burn tension, and an MMC that would burn the world down for her.
Blurb
Freija has spent her life shaping herself into the perfect Fjell Fae heir—disciplined, dutiful, and ready to defend her mountain realm. But when a hidden threat rises, the king assigns her a new bodyguard. That’s when her flawless façade begins to crack.
Halvar is a weapon carved from war—stoic, ruthless, and drenched in a blood-soaked past. The general is everything she has been taught to avoid… and the only person she cannot resist. With every lingering glance, every tense training session, the line between princess and guard blurs.
But death lurks in the mountain’s tunnels, and the pressure to secure the royal line rises. When Freija is forced to make an appropriate marriage, she faces an impossible choice: follow her dreams, including the man she is falling for, or be the perfect crown princess.
What will prevail? Duty or desire?
Princess x bodyguard, slow-burn, forbidden romance, elemental magic, morally grey MMC, witty banter, one horse.
My Review
This book is extremely bingeable. It’s a fun blend of romance, mystery, adventure and political intrigue set in a Nordic-inspired world. As a standalone, it has the perfect balance of world-building and fantasy without the overwhelm. The elemental magic feels fresh and adds an extra layer of interest.
The FMC, Freija, is strong, witty and full of heart. She’s determined to live up to the expectations placed on her as the eldest daughter and heir to the throne. Halvar, the MMC, is a ruthless, brooding warrior, who will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
I loved the princess x bodyguard dynamic and the forbidden romance really delivered on tension and yearning. The dual POV gives us insight into both characters and their contrasting personalities add depth and dimension.
If you’re looking for a lighter read without too much complexity, that’s romance forward and character driven, definitely give this one a try.
Fuck. Freija, I want you more than I’ve ever wanted anyone. You are everything to me.
